L-O-T-R Does 30 Day Challenge In ONE Day Part II

Day 1 Favorite hobbit

  • Samwise Gamgee: Brave, loyal, faithful to the end. What more can you ask for?

Day 2 Favorite location

  • Minas Tirith: My favorite bit of Architecture from LOTR. It’s just majestic/beautiful.

Day 3 Least favorite location

  • Helms Deep: It felt very Medieval & boring to me. It’s more function than fashion, you know?

Day 4 Best meal

  • Denethor’s meal in Minas Tirith looked mighty tasty but that meal of “tomatoes, sausages, and nice crispy bacon” the Hobbits were having on Weathertop sounded fantastic too, no?

Day 5 Favorite weapon

  • The Trilogy had fantastic weapons! I loved Boromir’s sword, I liked Narsil (of course), and I loved the Witch King’s mace. Legolas’ silver knives were beautifully wrought as well.

Day 6 Favorite song (soundtrack or performed onscreen)

  • “The Fellowship” & “The Fellowship Reunited” by Howard Shore.

Day 7 Film you’ve seen the most times

  • I think it would be better suited to ask which one I haven’t see the most! But, I believe that “Fellowship” & “Return of the King” are neck & neck in views.

Day 8 Best use of magic or supernatural gifts

  • Obviously, Arwen owning the Nazgul with the water and it was pretty cool in “Fellowship” when Gandalf brushes some stray clouds away outside Moria. And who could forget Gandalf’s epic battle with the Balrog? That was some tricky bits of magic!

Day 9 Favorite member of the fellowship

  • Boromir: He is absolutely my favorite, no matter his obsession with the Ring. I mean, the man spent 3 months journeying to Rivendell just so that he can keep his family and his people safe from Mordor. I admire his bravery, loyalty, and courage.

Day 10 Favorite man

  • Boromir: See Above ^^^^

Day 11 Favorite horse

  • Brego & Shadowfax and what ever Boromir’s horse’s name was, hah!

Day 12 Favorite scene in Elvish

  • Aragorn & Legolas’ small disagreement in the Two Towers in Helms Deep, right before the big battle. “They’re frightened, I can see it in their eyes.”

Day 13 Least favorite sound/sound-effect

  • Your argument is invalid! The Lord of the Rings sound effects were all top notch and can’t say a bad thing about them.

Day 14 A scene that always makes you laugh

  • When Pippin says, “What about second Breakfast?” Or when Boromir is teaching Merry & Pippin to swordfight. Gimli is also always good for a laugh!

Day 15 The spiffiest dresser

  • Boromir & Faramir’s costumes are always amazing. Legolas would be the obvious choice, no?

Day 16 The ugliest orc or uruk

  • Lurtz (the Urk that killed Boromir) & the Orc Commander in the Return of the King named Gothmog. He was just hideous, looked like a deformed brain!

Day 17 A scene that makes you cringe (disgust, fear, cheesiness, whatever)

  • It always makes me cringe just before Boromir dies & of course, the Aragorn and Arwen scenes are just so cheesy!

Day 18 Best fight sequence

  • Eowyn v The Witch King, Aragorn v Lurtz, and the Battle for Minas Tirith

Day 19 Worst fight sequence

  • That rainy, dreary battle in Helms Deep did nothing for me, folks.

Day 20 If you were from Middle Earth, where would you live?

  • Minas Tirith or Ithilien…I love those two places, just amazing.

Day 21 Best death scene

  • Boromir, hands down, of course. But King Theoden had a very honorable death as well.

Day 22 Worst death scene

  • When Haldir died at Helms Deep. Everyone fawned over Haldir, but I was the only one who remembered how CATTY Haldir was towards Gimli in Lothlorien! I just don’t understand why everyone loves him, he was just so rude to the Fellowship in the first movie. I care not for him. RANT.

Day 23 Worst decision by one of the characters

  • Well, Boromir trying to take the Ring from Frodo is high up there, right? Also, Frodo’s decision to send Sam away in Return of the King was just HUGE.

Day 24 Saddest casualty and/or collateral damage

  • Boromir was definitely the best character that we lost in the Trilogy. Also, it was a shame that we lost Smeagol to the Ring. It was just lovely to see him when he was a normal, happy Hobbit.

Day 25 Favorite overall character

  • Boromir is definitely my favorite character but Faramir is a very close second.

Day 26 Character you wish had been featured in the movies

  • Prince Imrahil of Dol Amroth! I loved his character in the book and I think that Prince Imrahil would have been a worthy character for Peter Jackson to have involved in the Trilogy.

Day 27 Re-edit the movies: what scene would not make the cut?

  • I feel that nothing needs to be cut from Peter Jackson’s cut but we can always add more footage!

Day 28 A scene that always makes you cry

  • I’m not a crying person but Boromir dying always makes me sad.

Day 29 Whatever tickles your fancy – your chance to add anything this list may have missed

  • My favorite female character in the entire series in Eowyn. I think that she is a strong, independent woman. Also, my least favorite character is Galadriel.  WHY YOU SO CRAZY, LADY?

Day 30 Favorite line or scene from the trilogy

  • Boromir’s “I would have followed you, my Brother, my Captain, my King.”

L-O-T-R Does 30 Day Challenge In ONE Day

Day 1: Your favourite book.

  • It’s really just ONE book split into three parts, I love them all!

Day 2: Your favourite film.

  • I love Fellowship but Return of the King is up there as well, if I had to choose. But they are all fantastic movies.

Day 3: Your most favourite male character.

  • BOROMIR

Day 4: Your least favourite male character.

  • Grima Wormtongue, I suppose?

Day 5: Your favorite song from the soundtrack.

  • Arrgghhhh, they are all my favorites! But I love “The Fellowship” by Howard Shore.

Day 6: Your most favourite female character.

  • Eowyn!

Day 7: Your least favourite female character.

  • Galadriel (she be crazzyyyy)

Day 8: Which one of the races of the Middle Earth do you think you resemble most?*

  • HUMAN :)

Day 9: Is there anything that you would have changed in the films (e.g.. added or dropped)?

  • I think everyone would agree with me when I say, LET BOROMIR LIVE! That would be deviating from the Book though! Peter Jackson should have kept all of Faramir’s Extended scenes in the movies. Like Faramir’s scene with Boromir/Denethor & Faramir/Eowyn in Minas Tirith.

Day 10: A scene that always makes you laugh.

  • So many! I always crack up during “What about second breakfast?” and when Denethor goes craaazzzzy and starts screaming FLEE, FLEE FOR YOUR LIVES. Gollum makes me laugh when he starts having schizophrenic conversation with himself.

Day 11: Your least favourite book.

  • Nope, there is no way any of the three parts are my least favorite.

Day 12: Your least favourite film.

  • Confession: I love Two Towers only for Faramir’s introduction as well as Eomer’s & Eowyn’s. I wasn’t too wild about The Two Towers, but it was totally commited to the book and I will forever love that.

Day 13: Do you prefer the books or the films?

  • I like that fact that with the films, you can see Middle-earth come to life.

Day 14: Can you speak Elvish language?

  • No, man! I like LOTR, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to go full out nerd!

Day 15: If you were about to go and live anywhere in The Middle-Earth, where would you live?

  • MINAS TIRITH hands down

Day 16: Your favourite quote from the books.

  • “I don’t know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.”

Day 17: Your favourite quote from the films.

  • “Hold your ground, hold your ground! Sons of Gondor, of Rohan, my brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of woes and shattered shields, when the age of men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!”

Day 18: Your favourite ship (i.e. romantic relationship, from canon or/and fan-fiction.

  • Faramir/Eowyn

Day 19: Was there any point(s) where you did think that Frodo would not be able to complete his task of destroying The Ring?

  • Nope, because I had already read all the books!

Day 20: Do you own any LOTR merchandise?

    • Let’s see, I have a LOTR Themed Monopoly set & the DVDs

      Day 21: The spiffiest dresser.

      • I loved Boromir’s costume the most :)

Day 22: If you were able to be any character you want, who would you be and why?

        • I would be Faramir because I admire how brave and loyal he is towards his family. I think that Faramir is one of the best characters in the book/movie so he is definitely the character I would be!

Day 23: Have you got any LOTR related tattoos on you? What do you think about LOTR tattoos in general?

          • Nope, haven’t a single tattoo. I don’t think tattoos are too classy. But I have seen pictures of people who have gotten LOTR Themed tattoos and they look beautiful.

Day 24: Your most favourite battle.

            • The Battle for Minas Tirith

Day 25: Your least favourite battle.

              • The Battle of Helms Deep, I hated the fact in was at night & raining

Day 26: First time reading/seeing The Fellowship of the Ring, what did you think about their decision to go through Moria (good or bad decision)?

              • All I can say is, LISTEN TO BOROMIR hahah

Day 27: Worst decision by one of the characters.

              • I guess Boromir’s decision to take the Ring, huh?

Day 28: Which side you are on, Sauron’s or Gandalf’s?

              • Gandalf’s of course!

Day 29: If you had a chance to meet one of the members of the film cast, who would you like to meet?

              • SEAN BEAN!

Day 30: How much does the trilogy mean to you and has it changed your life somehow?

              • I love the trilogy and they are my top three movies of all time. I wouldn’t go as far as saying “changed my life” but I feel great about the fact that I was able to watch three masterpieces.

              Hope You All Enjoyed It!

MTV.com Blogs About The Top 5 Extended Scenes They Are Looking Forward To Seeing On The Big Screen When The LOTR Trilogy Extended Cut Is Released In AMC Theaters JUNE 2011. Which Extended Scenes Are YOU Looking Forward To Most?

              Hey L-O-T-R Friends & Followers!

On the heels of the announcement that AMC Theaters will be releasing the Lord of the Rings Trilogy Extended Cut this June (2011), MTV.com talks about the Top 5 Extended Scenes they are looking forward to seeing.

              Here are MTV.com’s selections:

              Gifts From Galadriel

These flashbacks were cut from the original theatrical version of “Fellowship of the Ring,” but considering the time the Fellowship spent at Lothlórien featured some of the coolest and most visually stunning scenes in the film, we’re glad to see this on the big screen. Plus Gimli and Galadriel have an adorable interchange that pulls at our heartstrings.

              Old Man Willow

Yet another character to meet the Tom Bombadil chopping block in Peter Jackson’s “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, Old Man Willow did not make it into the final cut of “The Two Towers.” He does, however, have a scene in the extended version where he tried to kill Merry and Pippin, and Treebeard has to save them. It may sound lame, but it’s pretty cool.

              Boromir’s Body Is Found

Faramir lost a lot of character development in the scenes cut from “Two Towers” and “Return of the King,” but there’s a great sequence in “Two Towers” where he finds his brother Boromir’s body floating down the river. It triggers a series of flashbacks that greatly explains his strained relationship with both his father, Denethor, and his brother.

              Saruman’s Death

Sure, Peter Jackson has his reasons for cutting Saruman’s death scene, but now we’ll finally see both him and Wormtongue die on a big screen. Even if it does mean the scouring of the Shire will never ever happen in Jackson’s “Lord of the Rings” universe.

              Faramir And Eowyn

So much Faramir action in the extended “Lord of the Rings” trilogy! This great scene shows how his love affair with Eowyn began, which explains why she ends up being so happy Aragorn and Arwen get back together in the end.

Which Extended Scenes are YOU most excited to see this Summer? Discuss!

Please Explain To Me…How Has Boromir’s “One Does Not Simply Walk Into Mordor” Line Become So Infamous & Parodied?

Now, I can’t even watch the Council of Elrond scene without succumbing to giggles. Help me understand.

Discuss & Enjoy (try not to break into giggles, please!)
