LOTR Cast: Where Are They Now? Elijah Wood
L-O-T-R is proud to continue our feature with Elijah Wood! We got to know and love Elijah as the Ring Bearer, Frodo, in Peter Jackson’s Oscar winning trilogy, The Lord of the Rings. We watched young Frodo struggle through his epic journey to destroy the One Ring as we witnessed Elijah Wood grow as an actor and person while he filmed the Lord of the Rings. Let’s find out what our Ring Bearer has been up to after finding LOTR success!

In 2004, Wood appeared in Michel Gondry’s Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Elijah Wood got the opportunity to star along side a strong cast which included Kate Winslet, Jim Carrey, Kristen Dunst, Mark Ruffalo and many more. The film won critical acclaim and won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay at the 2004 Oscar’s.

Elijah Wood’s next stop was at 2005’s crime thriller Sin City, where he starred alongside a heavyweight group of actors which included Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Clive Owen, Benicio Del Toro and many more. The film was a new venture for Elijah Wood where he got to dwell into his dark side playing a killer.

Wood then leant his voice to 2006’s animated film, Happy Feet. Elijah Wood brought personality to penguins as he brought his character, Mumble, to life. The film did very well in box offices and won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.

More recently, Elijah Wood was featured in The Romantics, which starred Katie Holmes, Josh Duhamel, Anna Paquin, Malin Akerman and many more. For 2011, L-O-T-R is excited to see Elijah Wood taking Television by storm! Elijah will be starring in FXs telivision series Wilfred and then will be featured on the television adaptation of Treasure Island.
L-O-T-R is very excited to see Elijah Wood doing to well after Lord of the Rings and we will continue to support our Ring Bearer and see where his career goes from here!

LOTR Cast: Where Are They Now? Karl Urban
Hey L-O-T-R Friends & Followers!
Let’s continue our feature and catch up with Karl Urban! In the second installment of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, we were introduced to the people of Rohan. One golden haired warrior that instantly caught our eye was Eomer, King Theoden’s nephew. The New Zealand native became one of Peter Jackson’s fiercest warriors on screen and a fast friend to the entire cast off the screen. Who could forget Karl Urban and Viggo Mortensen’s stuntie Head Butt’s at every Lord of the Rings premiere?

After Lord of the Rings wrapped, Karl Urban jumped from Middle-earth to the action packed box office sensation, The Bourne Supremacy, which pitted Urban against Matt Damon. After Bourne Supremacy, Karl Urban starred in the video game movie Doom and then revisited his inner warrior in 2007 when he starred in The Pathfinder.

Although Pathfinder and Doom struggled to do well in box offices, Karl Urban was back with a bang when he starred in the cult favorite Star Trek which featured a stellar cast. In Star Trek, Karl Urban starred alongside actors such as Eric Bana, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Anton Yelchin, and Zoe Saldana. The movie did incredibly well in box offices world wide and Karl Urban is currently signed up to work on the sequel.

Since Star Trek, things were looking up for Karl Urban when he signed on to play a CIA Agent in the action movie RED which pitted Urban against Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, Morgan Freeman and many more. The film did fantastic at the box offices and it won more notice for Karl Urban in hollywood.

L-O-T-R is very excited to announce that 2011 and 2012 are going to be huge years for Karl Urban and his fans. On May 13, 2011 the horror film Priest will be released in US theaters which will star Karl Urban as a terrifying Vampire (by the looks of the official poster!). I had a chance to view the trailer for Priest and I say that audiences are in for an action packed treat and Karl Urban playing a villain looks to be a perfect fit!

In 2012, we will most likely see Karl Urban renew his role as Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy in the sequel to Star Trek and he will star as Judge Dredd in the comic book film by the name Dredd.

Take this bit of news with a grain of sand, but I’ve been reading in recent months that there is interest in making a Batman TV show in light of Smallville’s success. I have heard that producers would love to cast our very own Karl Urban as Bruce Wayne, the billionaire who moonlights as the caped crusader, Batman. I believe that would be fantastic and Karl Urban would be a worthy Television successor to Christian Bale’s big screen portrayal of Bruce Wayne/Batman.
Karl Urban’s star has never shone brighter and L-O-T-R looks forward to 2011/2012 being breakthrough years for the very talented actor.
Karl Urban, L-O-T-R salutes you!

LOTR Cast: Where Are They Now? Sean Bean
Hey L-O-T-R Friends & Followers!
We continue our new feature with the amazing Sean Bean who brought tears to our eyes with his heroic performance as Boromir. While Sean Bean’s character met his demise in the very first installment of Lord of the Rings, Bean’s memorable performance makes Boromir one of the most beloved and talked about characters in the movie. Whether you love him or hate him, Boromir’s heart wrenching farewell was enough to moisten any audience’s eyes.

Since Lord of the Rings, Sean Bean has had no trouble at all keeping busy. The actor, already wildly popular in England, accepted some major roles in high budget films in Hollywood. Sean Bean starred alongside fellow LOTR actor, Orlando Bloom in Troy and teamed up with Nicholas Cage for National Treasure.

He then graced big screens world wide when he joined Scarlett Johannson and Ewan McGregor in 2005 for Michael Bay’s si-fi film The Island. Sean Bean’s hollywood career took a sinister turn in 2007 when he starred in the remake of the iconic horror flick, The Hitcher.

Sean Bean continued to delight audiences when he signed on to play the iconic character of Zeus in Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief.

Currently, Sean Bean is working on HBO’s much awaited and promoted Game Of Thrones which will have Sean Bean back in chain-mail and wielding a sword. Bean will be playing the very important role of Eddard Stark and the epic series will debut in April. Here is Sean Bean and co-star Emilia Clarke at a Press Conference for Game Of Thrones.

Game Of Thrones is already causing a stir and talks of Emmy Nominations are rampant. Here are some lovely pictures of Sean Bean on set of the epic series.

Sean Bean stole our hearts in Sharpe, made us weep as Boromir, terrified us in The Hitcher, and delighted us as Zeus. He is one of the most versatile actors in the industry today and his talent continues to grow with each passing year. He has become recognized for his amazing works in Hollywood and demand for him in movies is growing! Announced just a few days ago, Sean Bean will return for the Silent Hill sequel! L-O-T-R is excited to see where Sean Bean’s exciting career goes from here!

LOTR Cast: Where Are They Now? Orlando Bloom
Hey L-O-T-R Friends & Followers!
We are going to kick off a new feature on our blog where we discuss where our beloved LOTR Stars are now. We kick the column off with Orlando Bloom, who enchanted and amazed us as Legolas. Let’s find out what he’s been up to since The Lord of the Rings.
After achieving LOTR success, Bloom went onto star in the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy which dominated the box office and further cemented Bloom as a bona-fide Action/Adventure star and a world wide heartthrob. He also starred in Troy along with fellow LOTR co-star Sean Bean.
Currently, Orlando Bloom has undertook a most important project: Fatherhood! Bloom and model wife Miranda Kerr welcomed baby boy Flynn on January 6, 2011.

Along with raising a family, Bloom is set to star in Summit Entertainment’s The Three Musketeers. Bloom will be playing the Duke of Buckingham and will be joined with a stellar list of co-stars including Mads Mikkelsen, Logan Lerman, Matthew MacFadyen, Ray Stevenson, Christoph Waltz, Milla Jovovich, and many more!
Here is a picture of Orlando Bloom, Milla Jovovich, Mads Mikkelsen, and Christoph Waltz from the Three Musketeers photocall.

Here are also some pictures of Orlando Bloom on set filming scenes for the big film!

When Orlando Bloom was cast as Legolas in the Fellowship of the Ring, he was a young man, at the very beginning of his career. Peter Jackson gave him the ball and Orlando Bloom seems to be doing just fine rolling along with it!
L-O-T-R congratulates Orlando Bloom and looks forward to all the amazing projects he will take on in his “blooming” career!
